    MERC specialises in obtaining books for schools and colleges throughout the Gulf. We offer free shipping and clearance of consignments to the UAE and a cost-effective service. The centre imports books from   UK, US, Canada, Australia and France.  We can deliver textbooks and    school supplies   at   a  very competitive prices  grouped and packaged accordingly before they reach you, either by department or by grade. We   can offer you advice on obtaining all the educational equipment for your institution.

    MERC can provide you with catalogues from all the major publishers worldwide and can organise for representatives of educational publishers to come to your school and advise you about their products.
  • Custom based solutions for Library Orders and Trade Supplies
    We   are the only educational centre  in the region that provides a comprehensive library service that includes consultation, ordering, cataloguing, colour coding, spine labelling and covering  at a very competitive rates. We have been marketing books in the UAE for more than thirty years. MERC has a qualified librarian on the staff   who can offer advice on setting up libraries, buying and designing furniture and provide you with suggested booklists for different age groups. You can purchase all your library books through MERC and we offer a jacketing and servicing package also.
  • Local in-house logistics Support
    MERC   a “one-stop-shop”  offers  a door-to-door service deliveries within the U.A.E.  We can deliver your orders on the   scheduled  date requested and preferred timings. Urgent delivery request can be send thru our courier  partners at the earliest possible schedule.
  • Facilities  for  rent
    Our modern, purpose-built facility at the Fen House in Jumeirah can accommodate up to 100 people in a large lecture room.  Available to schools for a minimal fee, the facility also has multi-media capabilities and can be used for examinations, open days or seminars.
  • Professional Development for teachers and educators.
    MERC organises  professional  development  courses/trainings  for teachers and educators  on a variety of subjects aim at broadening their horizons on the latest teaching methodologies and strategies specifically for  teachers in U.A.E schools.  Each training is custom-made for the particular participants and context, and typically   Resource Center educational consultant works in partnerships with trainers from educational institutions in UK.  Please refer to the professional development section.
  • The Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
    The University of Sunderland, Faculty of Education and Society, offers The Professional Graduate
    Certificate in Education (PGCE) Overseas programme to teachers and trainees living outside the
    United Kingdom. The overseas programme is designed to meet a local need for the academic
    training of teachers. Although the programme is a generic course that is not age phase related,
    it has almost identical academic content to the programmes taught in Sunderland to on campus trainees.

    Trainees qualify in their chosen key stage or specific subject area through research and practice
    during the modules. The practical aspects of the programme are based upon the Initial Teacher
    Training standards as defined by the Training and Development Agency for Schools which are the
    required standards operating in the UK during the programme. The PGCE Overseas aims to develop trainee teachers' skills and knowledge of teaching based on a reflective and critical approach to theory, policy and practice.
